Abstract:

Background: Appointment scheduling is considered as one of the important aspects of patient flow management. Today, the advent of Internet into the realm of health care has paved the way for employing an internet-based Booking system for visiting physicians. Therefore, this study aimed at assessing the online outpatient Booking system in Iranian hospitals. Methods: The present study was an applied descriptive study. In this study, all outpatient appointment Booking websites in Iranian hospitals were evaluated. The methods of outpatients Booking in the hospitals (N = 598) were determined based on information available at their active websites. Finally, 31 active online Booking systems were identified and investigated using a localized checklist, including 59 items in 6 sections. Results: The results showed that only 13. 03% of Iranian hospitals had an active online Booking system. All the online Booking systems had a weak quality based on the total score percentage (17. 10%). The highest score percentages were related to sections of online security features (45%) and details of health insurance (42%), while the clinical data section received the lowest score (7. 25%). The most frequent item was the patient’ s name in the patient demographics section (27 websites). Conclusions: The outpatient appointment system in Iranian hospitals is done more traditionally through walk-ins to the health centers. The online outpatient Booking systems have poor quality. Hence, codification and communication of national standards for designing hospital websites, periodical evaluation of appointment Booking websites by ministry of health, and survey of the users of this method can enhance the qualitative level of these websites.

Abstract:

Focusing on the problems faced by blind people, this paper has come up with the technology solution for the assistance of blind people. The solution is based on the intelligent data transmission to the earphone of a person based on task associated. The solution consists of a jacket to detect the obstacles along with a wearable box with task priority switchs. The system helps in detection of the obstacle and its height, one-touch Cab Booking and support of relatives, Ambulance services, Police services, etc. in the case of emergency. Either wired and wireless headphones or speakers can be interfaced with the device (box) to get audio notifications. The various tasks are triggered using multiple switches. The system will use a definitive SOC (System on Chip) platform recognized as Rasp-Pi-Pi along with ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04, Neo-6M GPS (Global Positioning System) module, and different switches. The system uses a 20, 000 mAh lion battery for the power supply. The voice signals can be provided in more than fifty languages. A fall detection system is also discussed in this paper. This system will be beneficial not only for blind but also for care of old aged people.

Abstract:

50 years after Peter Safar, the father of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), established the CPR sequence as Airway, Breathing and Circulation (ABC) in 1960, in 2010 the American Heart Association changed the CPR sequence from ABC to Circulation, Airway and Breathing (Cab) and gave priority to compression and defibrillation within seconds to minutes after cardiac arrest instead of endotracheal intubation [1]. . . .

Abstract:

Background: Scheduling doctor appointments at healthcare centers have been a managerial challenge for health systems. In recent years, many eff orts have been made to implement e-Booking websites in medical universities and their affi liated healthcare centers. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze the recent situation of e-Booking in the medical sciences affi liated clinics. Methods: The present study was a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in 2019 in 31 provinces, universities of medical sciences, and affi liated health centers. A checklist with 11 items was used for situation analysis. Results: The results showed that just 5 out of 31 (15. 15%) provinces and their affi liated universities of medical sciences lacked an eBooking system. Moreover, 85. 71% of cases had an integrated e-Booking portal, 67. 86% had mobile-based applications for e-Booking, and just 14. 29% of the cases had online payment gateway that was the lowest score in all items studied. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, there is a signifi cant growth in the situation of e-Booking websites in Iran in the last two years. If this improvement continues, it can lead to equity development in healthcare services, reduction of patients’ waiting time, a decrease in waste of resources, and an increase in patients’ satisfaction.

Abstract:

With the high competition among companies, they tend to improve their market share by applying di erent selling mechanisms such as online to o ine commerce as an e cient selling mechanism in which they sell their products via both online and real stores. This study deals with a selling problem for two complementary supply chains including a supplier and a shopping center where the commodities are sold by a virtual shopping center and a traditional one that present items as complementary shopping centers. It was assumed that market demand depended on price and service level so that the customers could purchase items via both shopping centers based on their priorities. Also, to analyze the reactions of the partners of the chain, di erent games were deemed. The aim was to obtain the closed-form solutions for the decision variables of the members of the network in order to maximize their pro ts. Prices of di erent selling periods at each echelon of the chains were decision variables of the model. The closed-form solutions for the decision variables were derived and the solutions were examined by a numerical example. Several sensitivity analyses of the key factors were performed to determine the e cient ones for the variables and pro ts.

Abstract:

BACKGROUND: The purpose of the study was to analyze the public perception toward COVID Appropriate Behavior (Cab) obedience and to identify the factors associated with declining Cab. MATERIALS AND METHODS: It is a mixed methods study conducted from November 2021 to September 2022 in Pune city, India. A set of 15-Cab guidelines published by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India (GoI), were used as a base document to design the instruments of qualitative and quantitative study. Using a one-sample Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, Cab scores were tested for normality and distribution. Comparisons of various parameters were done using z test for proportion and paired t-test (statistical significance level was 0. 05). Thematic content analysis was conducted for qualitative data analysis and verbatims are reported where appliCable. RESULTS: The main motivation for people to get vaccinated was family and personal safety and a higher proportion of people felt safer post-vaccination which was linked to a reduced likelihood of Cab obedience. Qualitative results showed that people's lack of empathy and concern for others leads to undesirable personal behaviors such as spitting in public places, not wearing masks, etc., The need for socialization is high but discomfort with the use of masks/face shields and habituation with the disease were prominent causes of Cab disobedience. CONCLUSION: We conclude that reduced fear and gradual habituation have led to reduced Cab obedience. There is a need to reinforce empathy and concern for others to improve adherence to Cab like maintaining social distancing and wearing masks in public places for personal and social safety from the disease.

Abstract:

Introduction: There are multiple reports of Acute Hepatitis B after blood transfusion inspite of good screening for Hepatitis B before transfusion. Therefore, occult hepatitis B is a serious concern for Blood transfusion. There is a lot of evidence that positive HBCab in seronegative HBSAg blood donors is associated with occult Hepatitis B. Aim: Evaluation of the prevalence of HBCab in seronegative HBSAg blood donors. Method: In a cross sectional descriptive study, we evaluated the serum of 1230 Blood donors for HBCab, HCVAb and Aminotranferase levels. HBSAg or AntiHIV Ab positive cases were excluded from the study. Detection of Anti HBSAb was done in HBCab positive patients and liver biopsy was performed in all HCVAb positive cases. Results: 15.1% of blood donors were positive for HBCab and 51.6% of them had Anti HBSAb. Aminotranferase levels were normal in all people who were positive for HBCab ,but about 50% of HCVAb positive persons had elevated aminotransferase levels and liver biopsy of all these patients showed inflammation Conclusion: Prevalence of HBCab is high in our seronegative HBSAg Blood donors and biomolecular studies such as PCR for HBV DNA is indicated in HBCab positive people, especially in people with isolated HBCab .
